European vs. Japanese bonsai styles (I love this !)
Walter basically smashes the snobbish notion that the hedge-cutting type of Japanese bonsai is superior to bonsai trees that mimic nature.

I totally share his outlook. I have battled such snobbery & blind worship in animation and photography too. A few years ago, I had done a talk of 6 hrs on Nat Geo photography & showed their blind disciples the naked truth - heavy duty processing & cover ups :D
