White Lead Tree No.3
Tree species : White Lead Tree (Leucaena Leucocephala / Su-babul)
Collected on : Aug 13, 2015
I found a few trees of this weedy species, uprooted and discarded by the gardeners of our residential complex. I cut down the almost 6 ft high trunk with a hacksaw blade.

I would not have bothered digging up such a tall and straight tree for bonsai but this literally fell into my lap. And the other 2 trees were split vertically along the trunk. Perfect for a damaged bonsai tree ! I planted all 3 into one pot in some unfiltered sand (bad, poor drainage) collected from roadside.

Raft Style
Tree species : White Lead Tree (Leucaena Leucocephala / Su-babul)
Collected on : mid Sept, 2015
Collected on : mid Sept, 2015
I found this sapling growing like a bent coconut tree, with few leaves at the tip and nothing else. It was easily uprooted from a heap of sand, the roots pruned and the leaves at the tip removed completely but slowly over 1-2 weeks. This led to sufficient back branching. A small weight is added at the tip to keep the main trunk horizontal. This will be grown in a raft style. It is not a cascade style, though it might be mistaken for it, at present.

White Lead Tree Seedling
Tree species : White Lead Tree (Leucaena Leucocephala / Su-babul)
Sprouted around : Aug 7, 2015
While my 2 root cuttings died, this seedling sprouted on its own, in the garden soil that I had collected for the root specimen.

Peepal Tree Seedling For Mini Bonsai
Tree species : Ficus Religiosa
Sprouted around : mid Sept, 2015 at home
This is Part 1. Read Part 2 & Part 3.
The original plant in this plastic cup had died and was thrown away. I kept watering only because a grass had sprouted, providing some greenery in my nursery. Then on Oct 1, 2015 I realized that this tiny plant on the right was a Peepal tree seedling and not a weed, since I saw young leaves on another Peepal tree branch.

I don't remember why I took this creeper. I found it uprooted near my car parking area. Maybe out of curiosity since it was just lying on the ground. The parent creeper has reached an adults height on another shrub.

White Lead Tree cuttings - Nov
Tree species : White Lead Tree (Leucaena Leucocephala / Su-babul)
Collected on : Nov 26, 2015
Season : Early winter, 18-33°C temperature range
I collected these highly ramified and dense tree tops for mini bonsai. They were short (waist high) due to repeated branch breaking by people over the years. I just broke the top section by hand and brought them home for further pruning.
