White Lead Tree cuttings - Nov

Tree species : White Lead Tree (Leucaena Leucocephala / Su-babul)
Collected on : Nov 26, 2015
Season : Early winter, 18-33°C temperature range

I collected these highly ramified and dense tree tops for mini bonsai. They were short (waist high) due to repeated branch breaking by people over the years. I just broke the top section by hand and brought them home for further pruning.

The small branches were cut, defoliated a bit, kept dipped in water, then planted into small containers after applying some rooting hormone powder. The time of the year and the small size of the cuttings might make it a challenge for rooting to take place. Lets see how it goes.

The rooting medium is pure cocopeat. For my future cuttings, I plan to use only filtered coarse sand as it seems to be showing better results as a rooting medium, as seen in my other recent cuttings.

All of them
