Soaked them in water first, then cleaned the trunks with an old toothbrush, just in case some tiny scale insects or eggs are on it.
Planted into moist coarse sand and kept in bathroom for a
humid environment. The coke bottle is used to cover the container for increased local humidity. Please note that its cap is kept open. If it is closed then excess humidity can cause black mold or fungal growth. To avoid this, some people open the setup for air circulation once a day.
